"The editors of DOGZPLOT and PANK are hosting a joint reading at AWP 2010 in Denver. The DOGZPANK reading will be held at Forest Room 5 on Thursday, April 8, at 7:30 pm. We're looking for readers. If you've appeared in both DOGZPLOT (either the quarterly or bi-weekly flash fiction issues) and PANK (either print or online), we'd love to have you join us for this literary extravaganza. The official theme, derived from the pre-published approach is: 're /visit /cycle /turn'.The issue itself starts in Not Technicolor, moves on to The Birth of the Universe and to Antibodies, picks up on Fragments, a Keepsake, -- and various other things and themes -- , and ends some steps from Eternity in South Bronx.

Welcome back to decomP for the October 2009 issue. This month we're featuring new work from Eric Burke, Neil de la Flor, Adam Falkner, Frank Hinton, Laura Isaacman, Tom Mahony, Halli Melnitsky, Sarah Q. Morgan, Andrew Roe, Jon Sands, Raudiel Sañudo, Karen Sosnoski, Jesse Tangen-Mills, Mimi Vaquer, Jeanann Verlee, and Catherine Zickgraf. Additionally, we have a review of Gary William Murning's debut novel If I Never.

Also, we'd like to congratulate our nominees for Dzanc's Best of the Web 2010. This year we nominated one poem, one flash, and one short: Jeannie Galeazzi for "Aeronauts," Stefan Kiesbye for "Home," and Jessa Marsh for "My Motel Week." We wish our nominees the best of luck in the selection process.

Second to lastly, the E-i-C was interviewed by No Teeth, a triweekly digital poetry journal, so read up on the d scoop and then consider submitting your work, poets.

But it also includes a goodbye letter from SLQ's long time Lead Editor, RANDALL BROWN, who is passing on his duties to take over the reigns as Program Director for the Creative Writing MFA at ROSEMONT COLLEGE in Philadelphia. So, congrats Mr. Brown.

They've taken the first step toward putting a little-known school on the map, toward making Rosemont the place writing students think of first when they realize they want to pursue the wildly growing form of flash fiction. I can't wait to start reading submissions here from the graduates who emerge from that program."

"Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential candidate, has finished her memoir just four months after the book deal was announced, and the release date has been moved up from the spring to Nov. 17, her publisher said.

"Governor Palin has been unbelievably conscientious and hands-on at every stage, investing herself deeply and passionately in this project," said Jonathan Burnham, publisher of Harper. "It's her words, her life, and it's all there in full and fascinating detail."

Palin's book, her first, will be 400 pages, said Burnham, who called the fall "the best possible time for a major book of this kind."

The book now has a title, one fitting for a public figure known for the unexpected — "Going Rogue: An American Life."

Harper, an imprint of HarperCollins, has commissioned a huge first printing of 1.5 million copies."
